DIABETES COMMUNITY CENTER LAUNCHES
WEEKLY WALKING CLUB AT NANCY LEWIS PARK

The Diabetes Community Center (DCC) of Colorado Springs is launching the DCC Weekly Walking Club, starting Thursday, June 11. The Club will meet every Thursday from June 11 – September 24 at 12:10 – 12:50 pm. The Club will gather at the Nancy Lewis Park on the corner of Templeton Gap Road and Logan Avenue, just 1 block South of Fillmore Street.

There is a $10.00 registration fee to encourage participation and the chance to win prizes at the end of the program. Every participant will receive a pedometer tracker the first week, with a chance to win a Fitbit tracker the last week. The Walking Club is open to people with diabetes in the Southern Colorado community, as well as families and friends. Exercise and being active are very important to helping manage diabetes. By joining the Walking Club, a person can find encouragement and a support system to stay consistent.
